This study contributes to empirical literature on the spillover effects of conditions and policies conducted in major advanced economies on the emerging economies. Moreover, we observe heterogeneity across the responses of emerging economies. Our particular horizon covers the period after the global financial crisis. The first chapter is unique because it covers a large volume of capital flows into emerging economies. In the second chapter, our work relies on international dimension. In the third and fourth chapters, we consider Turkey as our focus economy.
